Bomba Latin Fusion

Bomba Latin Fusion (BLF) brings the musical colours of contemporary Latin America to Western Australia. Integrating a repertoire of Latin pop, Salsa, Cumbia, Afro-Cuban Roots, Rock, Funk and Reggae; from a selection of influential Latino legends, just in the same way you will hear it in any Latin American festival. Contagious percussive beats are naturally made to dance; sang in Spanish, English and Portuguese; energetic and fun.

Bomba Latin Fusion have been playing at various venues and events in Perth since 2016. The band came together from a communion of talented Perth musicians with many years of experience in the local scene. The epicentre of the band came together from its Latin American members who experienced the feel and groove of the Latin music scene in their natural hometowns Peru, Chile and Cuba.

Miguel, band leader, guitarist and singer, takes the role to direct the band members to embrace a true feel in the execution and interpretation. The percussion section of the band, which blends Afro-Cuban tradition with a modern World Music take, is also formed by Latino musicians, which keeps the true Latin feel intact.

During performance, the band focuses in entertaining crowds with that contagious stamina embedded in popular Latin music. The band welcomes playing slow easy-listening Latin jazz music if required; however, people love to get up and dance to the upbeat music from the band. BLF suits large corporate themed events by dressing up in colourful Latino attire, consistent across the full band. The band presents itself sharp and hot with a vibrant presence.

The singers address the audience in English or Spanish to suit the occasion. The band does not create cultural boundaries, nor narrows its musical audience with its repertoire; all the way around, BLF embraces and celebrates multiculturalism and plays with that natural energy of Latin music to engage people of all backgrounds. Latin Americans will enjoy ‘the imaginary journey back home’ while others will discover a world of fun with the tunes played by BLF.

BLF does not hold anything back; the aim is to fill the dance floor right from the start until the end of the show. The repertoire varies from salsa, cumbia, Latin pop, reggae, Santana classics and our own Latin take of English popular songs re-arranged by BLF (e.g. Michael Jackson, Sting, Men at Work, Crowded House, Steve Millers Band and many others).
