Singer/ songwriter/ lead-guitarist Darcy Hay from Geraldton is proud to write about the rural communities where he grew up. This 27-year-old is a fingerpicking, slide guitar and harmonica sensation and has branched into the festival circuit with appearances at Nannup Music Festival, Gascoyne River Music Festival, Boyup Brook Country Music Festival, Strings Attached Guitar Festival, Nukara Music Festival and Blues for The Bush.
Hay currently has his sights set on a tour of Western Australia to promote his first 7-track EP, ‘This Blue World Is Full Of Joy’, recorded at Lolly Box Studios in Margaret River with internationally renowned recording artist Noah Shilkin. A prize-winning poet, Hay recently received a commended place at the yearly Songwriters, Composers & Lyricists Association national song writing competition for his song ‘The Old Farm Debt’; and was a finalist in the Boyup Brook song writing competition. With a repertoire of over 400 original songs, a broad, everyman drawl, inimitable guitar skills and a disarmingly affable, humble stage presence, Hay is an artist on the rise in the WA music scene.
