Kilian Albrecht is a Perth-based Musician that prides himself on performing solo acoustic heart- felt, pop, country and blues-influenced music. As the name suggests, when performing solo, Kilian prefers the stripped back feel and nature of just him and an acoustic guitar. No backing tracks! Only sometimes will he use the aid of a little loop box. This is for providing a colourful rhythm track enabling him to carve some tone full melodic solo lines over. Kilian provides an Earthy, laidback soundscape which is quite perfect for beer garden summer sundowners, small venue pubs, wine bars and private events such as birthday functions, smaller weddings, house parties and so forth.

Drawing from a broad repertoire of around 90 tunes from the 1960’s right up to the 2000’s, with modern classics and older crackers. Primarily, the songs lend themselves towards the acoustic based genre but with some gold from the 1980’s thrown in and re-worked from synth drenched songs of gold into acoustically friendly 80’s goodness.

Kilian has been a well-respected and in-demand guitar player around Perth for 2 decades across a range of styles. His guitar playing is melodic and tinged with the kind of familiarity that make the classics seem as if they are his own. In the mid 90’s he played with a variety of cover acts and original bands side by side, fitting in perfectly in every scenario. Bands such as Honey, Throwing Verses, The Externals, DM3, The Majestic Kelp in the 1990’s and post 2002 with solo performers such as Natalie Gillespie, Nathan Gaunt and Carus Thompson.

On the cover front, the highly regarded 80’s concept band OATS SUPPLY, the amazingly authentic concept band THE DEAD FLOWERS, The classic blues, rock, soul power trio of almost 20 years which is DR FISH. On the original band scene for the last decade with TOM FISHER AND THE LAYABOUTS performing numerous years at Blues at Bridgetown, Nannup Folk festival and several other major festivals.

Kilian has also worked and continues to work as a studio, session musician for the likes of studios such as Shanghai Twang, Poons Head, James Newhouse, Pet Rock Studios and many smaller private studios. Kilian has co-written material with Honey, The Externals and Tom Fisher and the Layabouts.

He is a polished, adaptable solo performer creating the kind of breezy, relaxed atmosphere that leaves even the casual observer with a song or two stuck in their head and a smile on their face.
