Interactive choose-your-own-adventures!
In these adventures, children engage in facilitated imaginative play such as being pirates, vikings or fantasy creatures and together create a story based on the children’s actions and ideas. This activity usually roves through a fair, venue, school or festival, taking place in a specified zone where children move about and explore, rather than a stage show. Alternatively, participatory stage performances are similar but take place on a stage with children stepping up to act out sections of the story as it happens. Captain Roger Boots often initiates fractured fairy-tales in this form, where familiar tales such as “The Three Little Pigs” are changed around and the ending is different, up to imagination!

Captain Roger Boots is always evolving and improving his shows, just as the Pirate adventures has expanded to include a more formal “Treasure Hunt” option; where the children find maps in glass bottles with rhyming clues as to the location of the next clue, culminating in the location of the chocolate Treasure!

When supplying chocolate treasure (Optional) Captain Boots also includes organic vegan lollipops for those children who can’t have chocolate. The Captain also works as a relief childcare educator (Dip Children’s Services), so is very aware of allergies and dietary requirements.

Roving characters
There are many fantasy characters available, some of which you can see in the image tile below. As these roving characters, there is plenty of interaction with the crowd, just as each character would. Incorporated are; short stories, magic tricks, juggling, making balloon animals, blowing giant bubbles and more, where appropriate for these characters.

Performance Storytelling (Stage Shows)
Stories suitable for all age groups; from children aged 2 years old right up to adults. The storytelling shows are in a theatre type venue or similarly intimate space where the audience aren’t distracted by passer’s by. ALSO available is a combination of storytelling with appropriate roving characters to tell stories to small groups at a time. This can work well combined with face-painting or other activities that children have to line-up for.

In addition to the above three essential products:
Workshops are available for both Acting & Storytelling.
