Mujahid Ahmed
Originally from Sudan, Mujahid Ahmed is a Sudanese-Australian stand-up comedian, speaker, columnist, and trauma psychologist whose work blends humour, storytelling, and social commentary.
Mujahid arrived in Australia in 2001 as seventeen old from Sudan. During his time in Sudan, he was forcibly conscripted and made into a boy soldier who eventually ended up leading a platoon of boys as young as thirteen.

Arriving in Australia in 2001, he began performing stand-up comedy in 2005 and quickly built a reputation for confronting race, identity, migration, and belonging through sharp observational humour and deeply personal storytelling. His performances have appeared across Australia and internationally, using comedy as both connection and critique.
He has featured on national television and radio, including ABC TV and Enough Rope with Andrew Denton, and was a TEDx speaker in Sydney in 2014 speaking on humour as a tool for social change. Blending wit, vulnerability, and lived experience, his work sits at the intersection of comedy, culture, psychology, and identity.
Despite the shattered left arm and the bullet fragments in my right arm, he considers himself to be one of the lucky ones. Seventeen years later, and the above story feels like a dream.
Since then he’s travelled to over thirty countries, learned to speak four languages, became a humanitarian professional and subject matter expert on refugees, a psychologist, the world’s only professional Sudanese comedian, and most importantly he’s conquered all his demons related to his experiences.
Mujahid also has a Bachelor of Psychology and a a Masters in Social Development. So he’s not only funny, he’s very smart. He’s recently returned from working in Nauru and PNG. He consults with Government Departments and Companies and is both an excellent comedian and MC.
