With her momentum only growing, it’s clear Olive Mae is destined for big things. Olive’s sound is quintessentially Australian in a way we don’t often see in an up-and-coming new artist and it is something she takes a lot of pride in.
Music has always been in her blood and her musical journey started when she brought a tiny violin home from school when she was 5 years old. She taught herself guitar at age 18 after being inspired by artists such as Sara Storer, Paul Kelly and The Waifs and she started writing her own songs almost immediately. Soon after, she was performing regularly at local festivals and events in her hometown.
After releasing her debut EP “Hit the Road” in 2024 (including the number one single “Wait and See”), she has performed at festivals all over Australia, been nominated for several awards, attended the CMAA Academy of Country Music. She has just finished recording her second EP with award winning producer, Matt Fell, in Tasmania and she has just released the first single from it, El Caballo Blanco.
Olive also graced the stage at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in both 2024 and 2025.
Olive Mae also performs cover music around events and venues around Perth, incorporating her own signature style.

– In March 2024, Olive Mae released her single Wait and See which went to number 1 on the AMRAP charts
After a chance encounter backstage at the 2025 TCMF Opening Concert, Olive Mae William’s dreams turned to reality when she was invited to open all 3 of Sara Storer’s sold out Perth shows in March.
After teaching herself guitar at age 18, playing along to Sara’s debut career defining album, Chasing Buffalo, this was the peak of Olive’s career to date and something until then, she had only dreamed about. This full circle moment happened after years of small steps towards this very outcome.
Following a break from music to raise her family, it was a dual nomination for her single “Girls Like You” at WAM Song of the Year in 2023 (Country & Outstanding Regional categories) that really kicked things off. Soon after, Olive and her family turned their family caravan holiday into national tour of sorts in late 2023, where Olive ended up playing over 50 shows in all states apart from Tasmania. Then there was many festival slots all over Australia in 2024 (including sharing lineups with Angus & Julia Stone, Boy & Bear, Vika & Linda Bull to name a few) and finally her attendance and graduation of the CMAA Academy of Country Music in 2025.
With guidance and encouragement from Sara Storer, Gretta Ziller and Lyn Bowtell, she has just finished recording her second EP with award winning producer, Matt Fell, in Tasmania and she is looking forward to releasing the first single, El Caballo Blanco, a song written for her Grandfather, in October 2025 followed by the release of more singles and ultimately the EP in 2026.
