Day Dreams Duo put their own acoustic twist on well known songs to fill the room at any bar, event or wedding, that will make people sing a long and dance!
Day Dreams comprises Karina, who has a pop/folk background with her own take on covers, along with her originals; and James, a WAAPA graduate, who plays jazz, blues and originals in a number of lineups. Their similar interests helped form the duo. They use their own acoustic twist on well-known songs to please the crowd and fill the dancefloor at venues, events and weddings.
Karina is vocalist who has been performing for several years. Her vocal range is versatile, with deep vibrato tones that lend themselves to the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Tina Turner and Adele. Karina brings an uplifting vibe to Day Dreams performances with songs carefully chosen so that every audience member – as well as she and James – has a good experience.
One of our favourite experiences while playing at a wedding came when the bride asked us to play the opening of Africa for the first dance, because her partner hates the song. Meeting unusual requests like that is one of the areas in which we specialise. We thoroughly enjoy meeting these requests to make an event as special possible. With enough warning, we have learned special a special song with special meaning for a bride and groom. We believe that weddings are very special events and that we should use all our musical experience and expertise when preparing for one.
