Glenn Mitchell is one of Australia’s most respected broadcasters, an accomplished master of ceremonies, and a powerful advocate for mental health awareness. With decades of experience in live television, radio, and major sporting events, Glenn combines professionalism, warmth, and authenticity to engage audiences across corporate, government, sporting, and community sectors.
During a distinguished career with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Glenn became one of the nation’s best-known sports commentators. Dubbed “The Oracle” for his extraordinary knowledge of sport, he covered four Olympic Games, four Commonwealth Games, two Paralympic Games, more than 200 international cricket matches, and over 900 AFL and WAFL games. His contribution to Australian sport was recognised with the Australian Sports Medal in 2000.
While his broadcasting career appeared to be one of remarkable success, Glenn was privately living with depression. Following his own experience of mental illness and recovery, he has become a passionate advocate for breaking down stigma and encouraging open conversations around mental health and suicide prevention. His keynote presentations combine honesty, humour, and hope, sharing a deeply personal story that resonates with audiences and highlights the importance of seeking support and looking out for one another.
Since leaving the ABC, Glenn has remained active in the media through radio, television, and print, while also becoming a highly sought-after keynote speaker, conference facilitator, and after-dinner presenter. He serves as an ambassador for organisations including the Institute for Respiratory Health, Lifeline Australia, and OneLife.
An experienced and polished MC, Glenn is equally at home hosting major conferences, awards nights, and corporate events. He is also available to appear alongside his wife, fellow broadcaster Karen Tighe, with the pair bringing decades of broadcasting expertise and natural rapport to events across Australia.
