Justin Langer AM is one of Australian cricket’s most respected figures, renowned for his achievements as a player, coach, author, and leadership expert. His career has been defined by discipline, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, making him one of Australia’s most sought-after keynote speakers on high performance and leadership.
As an opening batter for Australia, Justin played 105 Test matches, scoring 7,696 runs and 23 centuries. Alongside Matthew Hayden, he formed one of the most successful opening partnerships in Test cricket history, helping Australia dominate world cricket during one of its greatest eras. His playing career concluded during the memorable 2006–07 Ashes series, retiring alongside Australian greats Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath. In 2009, he also became Australia’s most prolific first-class run scorer, surpassing the long-standing record held by Don Bradman.
Following his retirement from playing, Justin transitioned into coaching, first with the Australian team before taking charge of Western Australian cricket, where he guided the Western Warriors and Perth Scorchers to sustained success. In 2018, he was appointed Head Coach of the Australian men’s cricket team, leading the national side through a significant period of rebuilding and renewal. During his tenure, Australia claimed its first ICC T20 World Cup title, retained the Ashes, and returned to the top of the world Test rankings. His leadership was recognised with selection to the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame and the Wisden Coach of the Year award.
